Christianity: Pleasure Cruise?

Christianity is not a pleasure cruiser. It is a rescue ship. This video is a must see. We are called to seek and save that which is lost. Not just play church and talk about reaching the lost.

So many think this is a game... what is the worst that could happen. (hell? sorry purgatory does not exist, there are only two lines mentioned in the bible and not a third line; those to the left and those to the right)
If you say you believe and you love and stand by and do nothing, you are a liar. For you either do not believe or you do not love. Sounds harsh, but truth is not meant to coddle it is to wake you up. When we say we believe in something it changes our actions (like believing something will harm you). I know, I used to say I believe, but I didn't believe. Now I do, and there is feet to my faith and my belief... I will not stand by and do nothing. You can call me what you want but you will have to enter Hell by jumping over me.

Acts Prompted by Faith

2Thess 1:11,12 With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Praying that God may count them worthy is less of a request than it is an endorsement in light of their endurance through persecutions and love for fellow Christians. And thus in view of their good purposes and genuine faith he prays that God may fulfill their every good purpose and every act which had been prompted by their faith.

Faith prompts us to action. We need to sense the prompting of the Holy Spirit who helps us infer applications of our faith. What actions have been prompted by your faith?  Take time to pray now for yourself and other Christians that God may fulfill every good intention and every act prompted by faith. Such fulfillment brings glory to the Lord Jesus, and consequently back to his servants, whether in this life or the next.

The night before

I feel... insufficient.
will I know the words to say.
will the day pass with nothing said.
oh... cry out to the night of the day to come.
Of the battle to be fought...
there is a silence in the air. of what is to come
For he knows the appointments to be met, and prepares my feet.
he causes me to lay down, and rest at his feet.
he comforts my soul and eases my weary heart of what is to come.
I can not do this on my own. so I take one more powerful than I with me.
Come inside and make a resting place inside.
I open my arms wide please take me and make me your own.

A mountain stands before me.
And he calls for the mountain to be laid flat.
A vast tempest sea is set across my path
And he calls it to calm in his holy name.
He lays his hand out across the way and tells me I am not alone For I am with you always
Words you do not know have been placed within you
A compassion greater than your own has been given
One tear and seed sewn. For from a heart you give the Gospel and not from your intellect.
OH... for what rest will I find until his day comes

Courage Continued....

My borthers, I know your fear and feel it myself for in my heart is a fear that would swallow my day. Bu tit is not our fear. Ours is a courage that knows not this world. A timeless enduring that sees no bounds, no edge. A focus on the almighty that takes us from this place and places fire within our hearts. Our enemy only knows fear for his time has come to an end.

When you feel your courage failing and fear standing beside you, look to the one who purchased you from this day, from death. For in Christ Jesus is a courage that shoots across the sky like a flash of light, spreading from the east to the west.

An hour comes when wolves will stand round about you, but one is here who delivers you, and sets you at a table before your enemies. No matter the day, no matter the night, an eternity is pressed across our skies. A place has been set for us, a feast. And his glory will you see, his presence is with you. And your enemy will flea and release those imprisoned. For the Glory of God Will you stand, will you speak, will you go!

Courage

COURAGE
The dictionary defines it as: The state or quality of mind or spirit that enables one to face danger, fear, or vicissitudes with self-possession, confidence, and resolution; bravery.

Ambrose Redmoon once said: Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear.

We see movie after movie situation after situation of people calling up something from within that overcomes all things to do the seemingly impossible. Have you ever found yourself standing at some point trying to summon up some courage to do something you are totally and positively fearful of doing, who hasn't. The question truly becomes not have we found ourselves standing in those situations but did we move in those situations and in which direction.

I imagine a scene where there are a few warriors staring down a massive attacking enemy, the numbers are too great, the odds insurmountable, what do we do. To do nothing is unthinkable but to do something is insane. When a voice comes from no where summoning up the courage, telling you all is well, you are not alone. Your eyes flash wide and you move.... The enemy thinks you foolish and almost mocks your attack... but what he does not see is the undefeatable foe within, that thing which death does not defeat.

Courage is doing what most would consider foolish but faith would call wise.

Acts 6:8-15 And Stephen, full of faith and power, was performing great wonders and signs among the people. But there arose some men from what was called the Synagogue of the Freedmen, both of the Cyrenians and the Alexandrians, and of those from Cilicia and Asia, debating with Stephen. And they were not able to withstand the wisdom and the Spirit with which he spoke. Then they secretly instigated men to be saying, "We have heard him speaking blasphemous words against Moses and God." And they aroused the people and the elders and the scribes; and coming upon him, they seized him, and led him to the council. And they put forward false witnesses saying, "This man does not cease to speak blasphemous words against the holy place and the law;  for we have heard him saying that this Jesus the Nazarene will destroy this place and change the customs which Moses handed down to us." And looking intently at him, all those who sat in the council saw his face like the face of an angel.

Acts 7: 1-3 Then the high priest said, "Are these things so?" And he said, "Men, brothers and fathers, listen: The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran, and said to him, 'Go out from your land and from your relatives, and come to a land which I will show you.'

Courage, also known as bravery and fortitude, is the ability to confront fear, pain, danger, uncertainty or intimidation. It can be divided into "physical courage" — in the face of physical pain, hardship, and threat of death; and "moral courage" — in the face of shame, scandal, and discouragement.

I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move.
Matthew 17:20
